Twist

The mould for the Twist Collection is cast from a 3D-printed, twisted form, generated by three identically sized ovals placed at 90 degrees to each other. This creates a volatile shape that is angular and zigzagged as the pot is seen from different angles,

The mould has been designed to be used both ways up which means that inverted pieces work beautifully in pairs, creating negative spaces between them that emphasise their angularity.

The hand painted patterns on these vases play with the inherent movement in the shape, using the twist of the pot itself as the foundation for spiralling patterns, some of which are simple to read, while others are hidden in more complex and intricate tessellations founded on prime numbers and mathematical sequences.

The Twist Vases stand 200mm tall.
