BoX
The Box Collection is cast from a simple box mould that mirrors the Golden Section to create a calm and well proportioned shape with four flat, vertical surfaces. A circular mouth is carved into the top.
This form offers endless opportunities for pattern making: on each surface, but also across the edges, allowing a single image to bleed across two sides.
The pieces in the Box Collection are hand painted, with images that sometimes evoke a mathematical rigour, and at other times an affinity with nature. Texture is added to the surfaces through the combination of exposed underglazes, matt glazes and shiny glazes.
The Boxes stand 220mm tall.
